In a tournament overshadowed by their neighbors, the Pakistani Super League has finally decided to go toe-to-toe alongside their competitors, the Indian Premier League. The PSL, which was regularly scheduled from March to April has now shifted to April and May, colliding entirely with the IPL schedule. This has enabled the influx of Bangladeshi players to enter the international stage and develop outside their homelands. Three Bangladeshi were selected which included a fast bowler, a leg-spinner, and the other being a wicket keeping batsman. Liton Das, Nahid Rana, and leggie Rishad Hossain were snapped in the drafts last week. Rapid Rana was drafted in at the gold category by Peshawar Zalmi, while Liton and Rishad were selected in the silver category by Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars respectively. With a tantalizing tale to begin after a festive champions trophy, these Bangladeshi stars will be enthusiastic to showcase the talent from the golden land. With Pakistan having rampant pace tracks, Nahid’s speed of 150 upwards will be key for Peshawar, leading the bowling attack for the side. Liton’s experience and a plethora of  shot selection will become an appealing weapon for Karachi, as he can provide a balance for the ever-aggressive duo of David Warner and James Vince. For the case of rising Rishad, Lahore Qalandars will have the experience of Sikandar Raza, Fakhar Zaman, and Daryl Mitchell, all of whom will guide and accelerate Rishad’s development. With a two month festival in Pakistan, the PSL will surely begin highlighting their true potential, and these Bangladeshi players will bring more energy to the extravaganza.
